In 2005, AmCan formed a new division dedicated to the export and distribution of food supplements and pharmaceutical products in the Middle East region. AmCan is now representing over 20 of the biggest US and Canadian companies specialized in the food supplements, sport nutrition and health food products. Food supplements and heath foods are widely known and used in developed countries such as the USA, Canada and Europe. This stems from the fact that people in this part of the world are relatively more heath conscious and more educated in terms of health and wellness. On the other hand, in the Middle East region, people are not as informed with regards to food supplements. In general, they do not distinguish between pharmaceutical products and food supplements such as a multivitamin. Both are perceived as a medicine. However, this is starting to change. Through education and development, food supplements are becoming more commonly used through out the region. This has attributed to the growth of this industry within the Middle East. Accordingly, AmCan have been able to capitalize on this opportunity by introducing many internationally recognized brands to the region. Over the years, AmCan has developed extensive experience in terms of the process and regulations required to register new pharmaceutical and nutritional products overseas. The process may seem lengthy and complicated. Nonetheless, our team has developed the adequate experience and contacts to aid both customers and suppliers in the process of preparing the required certificates and documents. |
